Also a not so friendly side effect of the dark days is that we already noticed the people around us started sniffing and coughing. And there's nothing we'd rather avoid than catching the flu. So here’s a tip from our instructor Milou to survive these rainy and cold days. Treat yourself and get cosy on the couch with her golden milk. The ingredients in this drink such as ginger and turmeric are known to be anti-inflammatory and for strengthening the immune system. The black pepper will help your body to absorb the tumeric so it can do it's magic!
Ingredients:
300ml almond milk
1 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp ginger (fresh or powder)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom
a tiny pinch of black pepper
A bit of agave of maple syrup
How to:
Heat the almond milk over low heat and add the other ingredients. Stir through untill the milk is nice yellow/golden and steaming hot! Poor in a cup and enjoy this creamy and spicy drink whenever you feel like it, or when you feel that nasty flu coming up!
