Staying fit on your holiday
Keeping up your healthy routines can be hard during regular daily life, let alone when you go on a holiday. You just tend to relax, let your guard down and leave anything be. But letting everything slip, like eating healthy foods and having a workout routine will make coming bake home kick in extra hard. That’s why we found that keeping up a moderate version of your normal routine is the perfect way to go on a holiday.
How we do that? Let us give you our personal advice!
Do fun activities
Staying active doesn’t always have to mean that you need to drag yourself into that hideous hotel gym, or swim around the pool over and over again. You can make activities during your holiday so much fun! We like long walks, especially on a city trip. Or hiking up a waterfall, a mountain or a rock. Surfing, kayaking and supping are some of our favourite water activities. We can think of so many more fun things. Just make sure you choose something your companion(s) also want to do and go and have yourself a blast.
Pre-decide
Holidays are always (at least for us) known for the abundance of good food. It’s easy to be tempted by Italian pizza’s and pasta’s, French patisserie and some Spanish sangria. And we also really encourage you to enjoy all of it. Just do it in moderation. Try do decide every day what you’re gonna indulge on. Whether it’s gonna be some gelato, cocktails at the bar or pancakes for breakfast. Do it and enjoy it to the fullest, just make sure to incorporate lots of healthy foods along the rest of your day!
Bring resistance bands
Resistance bands literally are a lifesaver. There are so many fun workouts you can do with them, and they take up no space at all in your suitcase. So buy some nice ones and try to fit in some extra exercise in the morning, even if it’s just for 10 or 15 minutes. This way you’ll get it out of your system and you won’t be feeling like you need to workout for the rest of the day!
Let go of any guilt or pressure
Life can be very hectic and a holiday is the perfect way to calm down, relax and just enjoy your time. That’s why it’s so important to let go of the guilt. It’s okay to eat little more than you usually do and you do not have to workout every single day! Enjoy your time in the sun, just reading a good book and sipping cocktails. Life is so short already, you should enjoy and be grateful for the good times you have.
