Overnight chia & oats

Have you ever heard of the saying ‘have breakfast like an emperor, lunch like a king and dinner like a poor man’? Well we did, but let's be honest, in your daily life it’s not that easy to have breakfast like an emperor. Wether you aren’t big on breakfasts, need to get to work early, ride at Vélo at 7 o’clock, snooze your way through the morning or need to get your kids to school, there is always a reason why breakfast slips through your fingers. We get the problem, but we also see that every time we skip breakfast we tend to eat more sh*t over the rest of the day. That’s because your body wants to make up for the lost calories and needs energy to do all the things we named above. Also by starting your day with a healthy breakfast you set your mind up for success, because you feel so proud of yourself right away. For this reason we like to have breakfasts we can prepare the night before. That way the only thing you have to do in the morning is the fun part, EATING. And that’s the part we never say no to! To get you up and running on those busy mornings, we’ve written down one of our own favourite breakfast recipes to make in advance. It’s healthy, yummy and easy to make, so no more excuses to not feel like an emperor! __What you’ll need:__ - 30 grams of chia seeds - 30 grams of rolled oats - 10 grams of flaxseeds - 200 ml of (plant based) milk - we like to use almond milk - Agave sirup to taste - Fruits, nuts and seeds of your choice __How to prepare:__ All you need to do the night before is combine the chia seeds, rolled oats, flaxseeds, milk and agave sirup in a bowl and stir it through. Let it sit for about half an hour, then stir again, cover it up and put it in the fridge. That’s all! When you’re ready to eat it the next morning just top it off with your favourite fruits, nuts and seeds and you’ll have the perfect combination of carbs, healthy fats and protein. You can even put the fruits on top the night before, we just recommend to add the nuts and seeds at the last moment so they won’t get all soggy. Sometimes when we feel like a little extra we also drizzle over some natural peanut butter and sprinkle on a little chopped up extra dark chocolate. (We told you, you would feel like an emperor).
